If I Can’t Eat It, It Doesn’t Touch My Family
Part 4: Face Care – No $200 Serums, Just Rosehips I Pick Myself and Beef Fat

The face-care industry is one giant grift.
They want you hooked on a 10-step routine with $180 peptide serums, $90 barrier creams, and $70 vitamin C that oxidized the day the bottle was filled. It’s all designed to keep you insecure and broke.
I used to be their perfect mark. Spent way too much on “clean luxury” lines that left my face red, tight, and breaking out worse than ever. Then I quit. Eight years later, at 40-something, my skin is calmer, softer, and has fewer issues than it did at 25 — and my entire routine is two products I make myself (three when the new roller drops).
Here’s exactly what I actually do.
Morning – 30 seconds
- Cold well-water splash
- Pat dry
- One pump of my rosehip facial oil blend (same cold-pressed base as body oil — sweet almond, sunflower, hemp, avocado, jojoba — but loaded with rosehips I harvest, clean, and infuse fresh every November from the fencelines)
Night – 60 seconds
- Raw local honey cleanse (massage on dry, wet hands, massage again, rinse) OR a quick swipe with a felted Castile bar if I’ve been rendering all day
- Pat dry
- One scoop whipped tallow butter (same jar I use on my hands after chores)

When I want a little extra lift (the “Mini Botox” roller coming soon)
On the days I look in the mirror and think “damn, gravity’s working overtime,” I roll on my special EO blend: frankincense, lavender, helichrysum, myrrh, and a touch of rosemary in a jojoba/rosehip base. I roll it along the jawline, crow’s feet, and forehead, then press the tallow butter on top to seal it in. Ten minutes later things look tighter, brighter, and lifted — no needles, no $500 bill.
This one’s getting bottled in roller-ball tubes and hitting the shop soon. Get on the waitlist if you want first dibs.
The Products That Do 99 % of the Work Right Now
→ Rosehip Facial Oil Blend – hand-harvested rosehips from my land, infused fresh every fall into the same cold-pressed base as the body oil. Real vitamin C, real scar-fading, real glow for aging skin that’s seen too many Michigan winters.
Shop it: [Rosehip Facial Oil Blend]
→ Whipped Tallow Butter – grass-fed tallow, raw beeswax, real essential oils. Calms redness overnight, heals wind-burn in hours, keeps my face soft through negative temps.
Shop it: [Body Butters]
→ Raw Honey Face Cleanser – local, unfiltered, never heated. Gentle, antibacterial, zero stripping.
The Results After Eight Years
- No more cystic breakouts
- Rosacea-like flushing gone
- Fine lines? Yeah, they’re there. I earned them running this farm.
- Skin softer and more even at 40+ than it ever was at 25
- Zero dermatologist visits or “actives” in years
I’m wind-burned, sun-kissed, and have rosehip scratches every November, but my face finally looks like it belongs to someone who isn’t at war with it.
If you’re ready to ditch the 10-step scam, start here:
Throw out everything with fragrance, phenoxyethanol, retinol, or synthetic vitamin C. Replace it with raw honey to cleanse, rosehip facial oil morning, tallow butter night. Add the Mini Botox roller the second it drops.
This is the end of the series — and the beginning of getting your face (and your money) back.
Everything I use is live in the shop right now (except the roller — that’s coming the minute I finish the batch).
