Happy February from Lange Girl Farms! As Valentine’s Day approaches in Southeast Michigan, our homeschool lessons are focusing on love—YAH’s perfect love from 1 Corinthians 13. We’re reading the chapter together and seeing how kindness, patience, and love play out in daily farm life. From caring for the animals to helping each other with chores, it’s a beautiful way to live out the verse. Come see how we’re tying Valentine love to farm kindness this week. For little bumps from play or chores, our Bumps & Bruises Salve is always close by!
Our Valentine Love Rhythm
February mornings are full of farm kindness:
- Starting with animal care—feeding chickens and ducks, brushing llamas and alpacas (Rosie Red the Suri and Magnolia the Huacaya), checking rabbits, mini horses Misty and Snowy, and big horses Thunder and Lightning.
- Spotting wild turkeys or deer—reminders of YAH’s care for all creation.
- Ending with indoor time for Bible reading and crafts.
Tying Love to 1 Corinthians 13
We’re focusing on 1 Corinthians 13:4-7—“Love is patient, love is kind…”
- Simple Connection: Kindness to animals (gentle brushing) shows love; kindness to family (helping with chores) shows YAH’s love.
- Discussion Points:
- Patience when an animal is slow.
- Kindness in sharing feed or toys.
- Love that “bears all things”—like cold hands from chores!
- Patience when an animal is slow.
How Farm Life Teaches Love
- Math: Counting acts of kindness (e.g., 5 kind words today).
- Science: Observing how kindness calms animals (lower stress).
- Life Skills: Practicing patience during feeding time.
- Bible Integration: Living out YAH’s love daily.
Practical Kindness Activities
- Make Valentine cards for family with farm drawings.
- Do an extra chore to help someone.
- Share eggs or treats kindly.
Table: 1 Corinthians 13 on the Farm

Wrapping Up
Valentine love isn’t just hearts—it’s living 1 Corinthians 13 on the farm every day. We’re thankful for YAH’s perfect love guiding us.
Stay inspired,
Kara
